Terms of Service and Booking Agreement

Version 2026-09-28, effective September 28, 2026. These terms apply to every booking with Doorstep Seasons. Please read them before you pay; checking the box at checkout means you agree to them.

1. Who we are. Doorstep Seasons ("we," "us") is an Oregon sole proprietorship based in Tigard, Oregon, providing seasonal exterior decorating services ("Services") at your residence in Washington and Clackamas counties. "You" means the person who books.

2. Who can book. You must be at least 18 years old to book. Give us accurate contact, address, and access details at checkout. We schedule your slot and buy your materials based on what you enter, so wrong details can cost you your install window under section 5.

3. Booking and payment (current season). Packages and prices are listed on our website and include design, delivery, and installation. When you book an install slot in the current season, the full package price plus any add-ons is charged at checkout, and your slot is confirmed when the payment clears. Nothing is due on install day. We do not take deposits or partial payments for current-season bookings. Oregon has no sales tax and none is added.

4. Spot holds. We do not offer spot holds. Every booking, including Christmas 2026, is paid in full at checkout under section 3.

5. Cancellation and refunds. For a booking paid in full: cancel 7 or more days before your install slot and we refund what you paid, minus a 3% cancellation fee. The fee covers the card processing charge that is not returned to us when we refund a payment, and the cost of processing the refund. Inside 7 days of your slot, no refund is given, because by then the perishable materials for your job have been purchased and those costs cannot be recovered. You may reschedule once at no charge with at least 72 hours' notice, subject to availability. If we cancel your booking or fail to perform for any reason other than your breach of these terms, you receive a full refund of every amount paid for Services not delivered. Refunds go to the original payment method within 10 business days.

6. All sales final, ownership, and no returns. Cancellations before your install slot are handled under section 5. Once we install, all sales are final: every installation is designed, sourced, and cut for your porch, and the materials are perishable. We do not accept returns or exchanges of any material for any reason, and we do not refund installed materials. Everything we install becomes your property at installation, including pumpkins, gourds, plants, fresh greens, ribbon, bows, baskets, crates, signs, potted trees, ornaments, and poinsettias. Pumpkins, gourds, mums, and fresh greens are living or perishable and decline naturally; in typical fall weather pumpkins last 4 to 8 weeks, mums 3 to 5 weeks, and fresh greens 4 to 6 weeks outdoors. Poinsettias are indoor plants given as a gift, not part of the outdoor display: we leave them at your door on install day, you bring them inside the same day, and they are not covered by the replacement warranty in section 8.

7. Materials and substitutions. Each package lists the types and counts of materials included. Pumpkins, gourds, mums, greens, and plants are natural goods, so exact variety, size, shape, and color vary with the harvest and with what our suppliers have that week. If an item we planned to use is unavailable or does not meet our standard, we substitute a comparable item of similar type and value at no extra charge. Design, arrangement, and placement are our creative decisions, made to suit your porch. Images on our website and in our marketing may be concept renderings rather than photos of past installations; they show our style, not a promise of an identical result.

8. Limited 7-day replacement warranty. If a live item (other than a gift poinsettia) fails within 7 days of installation for a reason other than weather extremes, animals, theft, or handling by others, we replace it at no charge. To use this warranty, email a photo to hello@doorstepseasons.com within the 7 days. Replacement is the only remedy under this warranty: it is not a return, an exchange, or a refund, and nothing is sent back to us. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights under Oregon law.

9. Weather. We install rain or shine; every design is planned for Pacific Northwest weather through variety selection, fresh sourcing, and anchoring, and we do not guarantee that materials will stay dry. We may reschedule at our discretion only for unsafe conditions: ice, snow, sustained high winds or a high-wind advisory, lightning, or unsafe porch conditions. A weather reschedule carries no charge and is not grounds for a refund. Weather damage to materials after installation is not covered.

10. Events beyond our control. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by an event outside our reasonable control. Examples include severe weather, natural disaster, fire, flood, power or network outage, serious illness, crop failure, supplier failure, labor disruption, road closure, theft of materials in transit, and government action. If such an event stops us from performing, we reschedule your install at no charge or refund the amount you paid for work we cannot deliver. That is your only remedy in this situation.

11. Access and site conditions. You confirm that you own the property or have the owner's permission, and that any homeowners association or landlord rules permit seasonal decor. Before your window, please clear the porch of items you want kept, share any gate code by replying to your confirmation email, and keep pets secured during the window. If you won't be home, tell us in that reply where to leave your poinsettias out of the cold, such as inside a storm door. If we arrive and cannot safely perform the Services (for example a locked gate, an unsecured animal, blocked access, or a question of authority), we will email you and wait 15 minutes, then reschedule once; a $60 trip fee applies, and the cancellation tiers in section 5 continue to run from the original window. All work is performed at ground level up to door-frame height. We do not use ladders, move heavy furniture, or work on rooflines.

12. Your display after we leave. Seasonal decor sits on and around porches, steps, and walkways. Keep your paths clear and usable, and look at them before you walk them. Wet greens, leaves, and other organic material can be slippery. Pumpkins, gourds, mums, and greens can attract insects, rodents, and wildlife, and they soften, mold, and rot as they age. Check your display regularly, and remove anything that has broken down, become a trip hazard, or started attracting pests. Everything is yours, so you may move or remove any item at any time. If you have young children or pets, place items where they cannot be pulled over. Except as stated in sections 15 and 16, we are not responsible for injury, illness, pest activity, staining, or property damage arising from the display after our visit ends, unless it results from our negligence in how we installed the display.

13. Optional takedown add-ons. Takedown is not included in any package; it is sold as an add-on when you book. Pumpkin rescue takedown (fall): we return on a weekend route day between November 7 and November 22, 2026 (the weekend of December 5 if you bought the Thanksgiving refresh), email you the date about a week ahead, remove and haul away the pumpkins, gourds, mums, corn stalks, and straw we installed, and leave the porch swept; we give sound, uncarved, unpainted pumpkins to a farm sanctuary when one can take them, and the rest go to yard debris. January takedown (Christmas): we return between January 2 and January 10, 2027, remove the greens, garland, and bows we installed, recycle the greens as yard debris, and leave the potted trees on your porch with the ornaments boxed beside them; they remain yours. Pumpkin swap: if you add the swap to a Christmas booking, we remove your fall display at the start of your Christmas install. We remove only what we installed, never items you added, and we do not haul household waste. If you did not add a takedown, you decide when the display comes down; perishable items can be composted or placed in yard debris. A takedown add-on may be cancelled until 7 days before its window opens, for a refund of the add-on price minus a 3% cancellation fee. If we cannot access the porch on the route day, section 11 applies.

14. Theft, vandalism, and loss. Once installed, materials are in your care. We are not responsible for theft, vandalism, animal damage, or loss after installation. Your homeowner's insurance may cover such losses.

15. Property care. We take care to protect your surfaces and place barriers where practical. We attach wreaths and garland with removable adhesive hooks, wire, over-door hangers, and weighted bases only, never nails, screws, or staples; remove adhesive hooks by pulling the tab straight down, and marks from hooks removed any other way are not covered. If we damage your property through our ordinary negligence, tell us by email within 48 hours with photos and we will repair it or reimburse the reasonable cost, subject to section 16. Natural staining or moisture marks from organic materials on porous or unsealed surfaces, and pre-existing conditions, are normal outcomes of seasonal decor and are not covered.

16. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by Oregon law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Services, including claims based on our ordinary negligence, is limited to the amount you paid for the affected booking. This limit does not apply to bodily injury caused by our negligence. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost time or lost enjoyment. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

17. Photos and media. We may photograph and film the exterior of your home, including the porch, entry, steps, and front yard, before, during, and after installation. You give us permission to use these photos and videos, and edited versions of them, for any purpose we choose, including our website, social media, advertising, print materials, and portfolio, in any media now known or later developed, without payment to you and without time limit. We do not photograph or film the inside of your home, and we keep you, your household, and your visitors out of our photos and videos. Before we publish a photo or video, we blur or crop out house numbers and license plates, and we never publish your name, your address, or your installation dates. You confirm that you have the right to give this permission for the property.

18. Communications. By booking you agree to receive transactional emails about your booking: confirmation, reminders, changes, and photos. We communicate in writing by email only, so that you and we both have a record of every booking, change, and question. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in separately; you can unsubscribe anytime using the link in any email.

19. Disputes. These terms are governed by Oregon law. Contact us first at hello@doorstepseasons.com; we respond within 2 business days and want to fix problems quickly. Unresolved disputes may be brought in the small claims court of the Oregon county where the Services were performed.

20. General terms. These terms, the package and add-ons you selected, and your checkout confirmation are the whole agreement between us, and they replace earlier conversations or emails on the same subject. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a term right away, we keep the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer a booking to another person or address without our written agreement by email. We may use subcontractors and we remain responsible for their work. Checking the agreement box at checkout has the same effect as your signature.

21. Changes. We may update these terms from time to time; this is version 2026-09-28, and the version shown at your checkout governs your booking. Questions: Doorstep Seasons, Tigard, Oregon, hello@doorstepseasons.com.
